He wants her for his son and would do anything to achieve that . The story revolves around characters who are ready to give up everything they own to save the one person that matters the most to them. Will this battle of extremes have a winner? Evelyn POV:

I felt excruciating heartache as I saw Will lying in the hospital bed. In the midst of my anguish was the burning desire to bring Big Tom and the Hornets to justice and save everyone I loved and cared about. But it was easier said than done. Faced with Will’s physical weakness, a silent and withdrawn father, and Lisa falling on the Hornet’s radar, I might have to take up the mantle of defender, something I’ve been doing for a while, just not in front of guns and people who wouldn’t hesitate to shed blood. But what’s the value of loving if you don’t fight for it?

EVELYN

She felt her knees grow weak as soon as she stepped into the room where Will was lying unconscious. If Lisa were not so swift to catch her by the arm, Evelyn would have fallen to the ground on her knees. Because her eyes were fixed on the gory image of Will in a bloodstained shirt, she didn't notice Bill standing next to the bed, in a bloodstained shirt , and with a teary face. It was Lisa who noticed him and drew him to one side while Evelyn examined Will as she trembled visibly. She ran her eyes over the length of his body in disbelief, and it choked her. She covered her mouth with one hand and dramatically brought the other one to Will's chest. As she grazed the bloody buttons with her fingers, she felt irritation and anger well up inside her.

The hushed tones buzzing behind her from Bill and Lisa irritated her. She brought her fingers back up from Will’s shirt and got to her feet with such speed, that Lisa and Bill were taken by surprise.

Do that outside, will you? she snapped, the tears making the words heavier to pronounce. Lisa nodded and led Bill out. The latter avoided Evelyn's eyes all the way out but she didn't care. She just wanted to spend one tranquil moment with Will and properly take in what was going on around her. When she received the call about Will, she had been too surprised to think about the people behind the attack. All she wanted to do was see Will and confirm that he was not dying. She could not imagine a life without Will in it. The possibility of it could not even take shape in her mind because it was something she just deemed impossible.
