About the reproduction of the production conditions. Reproduction of the means of production and reproduction of labor power.

Every MODE OF PRODUCTION (MP) needs to renew its PRODUCTIVE FORCES for production to continue. Thus, the LABOR FORCE is reproduced, in capitalist society, with the salary (which implies the extraction of GOODWILL, that is, the part of the work that the capitalist does not pay the worker and that allows the accumulation of capital, a basic premise of capitalism). The MEANS OF PRODUCTION are also reproduced (for example, painting the factory, changing parts of a machine, buying raw materials). But they also seek to reproduce the RELATIONS OF PRODUCTION, that is, the different positions of men in relation to the ownership of the means of production (owners or non-owners) and, as a consequence of this, the different roles in production (capitalists or wage earners, going through other nuances).

Infrastructure and superstructure

Reproduction is achieved through INFRASTRUCTURE, as we have just seen, but also through SUPERSTRUCTURE.

This is divided into two: the POLITICAL LEGAL SUPERSTRUCTURE, where the state apparatus is located (the class struggle for the power of the state, that is, a change in power does not necessarily imply a change in the state apparatus, which can remain intact. ), with its institutions of repression (see table).

The other part is the IDEOLOGICAL SUPERSTRUCTURE, also with its respective institutions.
