ABOUT SYMBOLIC POWER
Unlike other types of exercise of power, THE SYMBOLIC POWER THAT IS EXERCISED ONLY IF IT COUNTS "WITH THE COMPLICITY OF THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THAT THEY SUFFER IT OR EVEN THAT THEY EXERCISE IT."
1. The "symbolic systems" (art, religion, language) as structuring structures
There are authors and schools of thought (Kantian idealists such as Humboldt or Cassirer, linguists such as Salir-Whorf) who say that symbolic systems or universes - myths, languages, art, science, etc. - BUILD THE WORLD OF OBJECTS, which would be " SYMBOLIC TYPES ". In this way, KNOWLEDGE APPEARS AS "ACTIVE", BUILDING (STRUCTURING) THE MATERIAL WORLD of things. The ideas of things determine and shape the things themselves.
An author who also adheres to this vision is DURKHEIM, for whom there are no universal classifications of things, but rather social types, which are arbitrary because they are related to a specific group in a given society.

ABOUT SYMBOLIC POWER
Unlike other types of exercise of power, THE SYMBOLIC POWER THAT IS EXERCISED ONLY IF IT COUNTS WITH THE COMPLICITY OF THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THAT THEY SUFFER IT OR EVEN THAT THEY EXERCISE IT.
1. The symbolic systems
(art, religion, language) as structuring structures
There are authors and schools of thought (Kantian idealists such as Humboldt or Cassirer, linguists such as Salir-Whorf) who say that symbolic systems or universes - myths, languages, art, science, etc. - BUILD THE WORLD OF OBJECTS, which would be SYMBOLIC TYPES
. In this way, KNOWLEDGE APPEARS AS ACTIVE
, BUILDING (STRUCTURING) THE MATERIAL WORLD of things. The ideas of things determine and shape the things themselves.
An author who also adheres to this vision is DURKHEIM, for whom there are no universal classifications of things, but rather social types, which are arbitrary because they are related to a specific group in a given society.
FOR THIS IDEALIST THOUGHT, THE OBJECTIVITY OF THE WORLD DEPENDS ON THE INTERSUBJECTIVITY, THE AGREEMENT OR CONSENSUS BETWEEN THE SUBJECTS, WHICH ARE STRUCTURING
, BECAUSE THEY GIVE A STRUCTURE TO THE WORLD OF OBJECTS
2. SYMBOLIC SYSTEMS
as structured structures (susceptible to structural analysis)
Unlike the neo-Kantian tradition described in the previous point, which highlighted the activity that produces consciousness (its modus operandi), STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS IS BASED ON THE OPUS OPERATUM OR STRUCTURED STRUCTURES.
SAUSSURE, the founder of the structuralist tradition, argues that language (structure) is a condition of intelligibility of speech (act of speaking). In other words, in this case THE STRUCTURE CONDITIONS THE SUBJECTS (SPEAKERS).
IF THE STRUCTURING STRUCTURE
OF IDEALIST THOUGHT (KNOWLEDGE) BUILDS THE WORLD OF OBJECTS, FOR THE STRUCTURED STRUCTURE
OF STRUCTURAL THINKING CONSTITUTES AND IS A PREVIOUS CONDITION OF THE WORLD OF SUBJECTS
FIRST SYNTHESIS
THE FIRST SYNTHESIS IS AS FOLLOWS: THE SYMBOLIC SYSTEMS
ARE STRUCTURING ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE STRUCTURED BEFORE
SYMBOLIC POWER IS A REALITY CONSTRUCTION POWER THAT TENDS TO ESTABLISH A GNOSEOLOGICAL ORDER: THE IMMEDIATE SENSE OF THE WORLD
AUTHORS SUCH AS DURKHEIM or Radcliffe-Brown suggest that THE SOCIAL FUNCTION OF SYMBOLIC SYSTEMS IS TO PRODUCE A CONSENSUS ON THE TYPES OF SOCIAL ORGANIZATION. That is the BASIS OF THE STRUCTURAL-FUNCTIONAL THEORY, CONSERVATIVE SOCIOLOGICAL THEORY, which seeks to reproduce the current social order and condemns any questioning of it.
FROM THIS OPTICAL, THE SYMBOLS ARE THE INSTRUMENTS OF SOCIAL INTEGRATION
, THE TOOLS FOR THE SOCIAL ORDER TO
