INTRODUCTION
Hello and welcome to Living The Chief Life. A how to
guide to assist you in nourishing yourself for optimal health, well-being and quality of life using a holistic and inclusive approach involving physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects.
I have been a practising dietitian since I graduated from Sydney University in 2009 with first-class honours, majoring in nutrition and dietetics. My passion for food and how it helps people be the best and most healthy version of themselves has led me on a wonderful journey of learning and discovery (both for myself and others). This has inspired and guided me in developing the Real Food Experience, which led to the inception of The Chief Life. The Real Food Experience was a 30-day lifestyle program I created in 2012, when I ran my own gym in Maroubra, Sydney, Australia, that allowed me to guide and assist my members, and members of other gyms around Australia, to improve their health, well-being and quality of life through food and lifestyle changes. The Chief Life is a full-service holistic wellness operation, started in April 2015, founded by my now husband and me as a way for us to reach more people across the globe with our knowledge and tools in nutrition, health, and well-being. We take a holistic approach to health and lifestyle and have a strong desire to share this with as many people as possible through our educational tools, personalised meal plan templates, blogs, podcasts, recipe video on social media, and in person at our wellness retreats. The Real Food Experience grew into the Chief Up Nutrition and Lifestyle Program and other health programs we run through The Chief Life online and face-to-face platforms.
This book is a collection of highlights (or as I like to call them, gold nuggets) and useful information / knowledge bombs that I (along with my amazing husband, Matty Turner) have gathered together and developed over our years in the health industry. We are excited to share these with you in the hope that it will help you, and/or your loved ones, on your health and fitness journey too!
I have worked with thousands of awesome humans through my career as a dietitian and found so much success with each and every motivated person who took on our principles and allowed him or herself permission to succeed. Even those who only followed some of our recommendations still achieved positive change and benefits for their overall health and well-being through learning new tools and approaches to food, diet, health, and a positive lifestyle.
