About this ebook
In our rushed, hectic, go-go-go modern world, it can be hard to remember to take care of yourself. But this one body is all each of us has to make it through an entire lifetime. What we do to our bodies - the stress we subject them to, the damage we do to the muscles and ligaments - stays with us every waking moment. We owe it to ourselves to nurture this delicate vehicle which moves us through our world.
Yoga for Stress Relief and Forgiveness provides a step by step recipe for calm and healing. Author Lisa Shea has been following this practice for a decade and over time has tweaked and polished the steps until each one resonates with serenity.
Study after study finds that yoga helps with lower back pain, depression, energy levels, balance, post-traumatic stress, focus, sleep, and much more. Whether you need to reset after a busy day or wish to have more joy in your daily life, yoga can help. It nurtures your body and embraces your soul.
Join us to take that first step forward into a healthier, happier you.

This book Yoga for Stress Relief and Forgiveness is intended to be free on all systems, to help those who are in need of support find a step toward a more contented life. If the system you are currently on requires a charge to download, all author's proceeds will benefit battered women's shelters.
If you have never done yoga at all, I highly recommend you start with a live human being helping you in person. That person can ensure you hold the poses in a healthy, safe way. If you don't have access to a human, at least use a video of some sort to see the poses in motion. It's like learning the harp or learning to swim - you need to see how the whole body moves. My book then helps you understand my personal sequence of poses, to create an atmosphere of stress relief and forgiveness.
Feel free to contact Lisa if you have any questions about her routine - she's happy to help!

I love writing in a variety of genres. I currently have over 300 books published in all lengths from full 500+ page novels down to short stories. I love writing series. Some are with unconnected characters, like the 14 full-length medieval novels with a sword being passed from heroine to heroine. Some have connected characters, like the 31 mini-mysteries featuring a detective in Salem, Massachusetts. All of my books are written "clean" with no explicit intimacy, no harsh language, and no explicit violence. All are suitable for teens and up.For a full listing of my books please visit:http://www.lisashea.com/lisabase/writing/gettingyourbookpublished/lisalibrary.html

Yoga for Stress Relief and Forgiveness - Lisa Shea
Introduction
The word yoga
in Sanskrit means listen. Listening is the key to what yoga is all about. It is about listening to your body. Stretching, bending, breathing, and listening. It’s about becoming more aware of your body, its strengths, where it needs help, and nurturing it.
I am a practitioner of the Kripalu style of yoga. Named after Swami Kripalu, this style emphasizes gentle, loving kindness to your body, forgiveness to your heart, and listening to what your body is telling you. You don’t have to twist yourself into a pretzel. You don’t have to out-do or even match the person next to you. All you have to do is take care of yourself, in whatever way is appropriate for you today.
Take it one step at a time.
Yoga is proven, by study after study, to help with body health. A 2011 study by the National Institute of Health found that yoga alleviated chronic lower back pain. A study done by Harvard found that yoga helped lift depression, even more so than other gentle forms of exercise like walking. Researchers at the trauma center of JRI find that yoga helps with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Johns Hopkins University found that yoga helps build balance, even in seniors for whom falling can be a serious issue. A study by the University of South Carolina found that yoga reduces blood pressure.
My yoga practice focuses on stress relief and forgiveness. Both are just so important in being able to focus and thrive. Each day we have is a gift. It is a blessing that we should treasure. By having the most focus we can, the least stress, and the most positive energy to apply to our own tasks and to share with the world, we make the most of that gift.
Namaste.
Note: I am not a doctor. Please always consult with your medical doctor before embarking on any exercise routine. Always listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain or discomfort.
About this Book
If you have never attempted any yoga before, the best way to learn is from a live human being. That person can see what you are doing with your body and help you do it properly. It’s like any three-dimensional motion like learning to play a harp or learning to swim. Learning these skills traditionally involve someone looking at what your body is doing and providing helpful feedback. The more you can get feedback in the early stages, to help you build good foundational skills, the better it will serve you for the decades of your life.
With that being said, not all of us are in a location where we have access to a live human being. In that case, a video is your best second option. Whether it’s rented from your local library or watched on YouTube, the video can show you all the three-dimensional movements that your body is making. It is nearly impossible to show those three dimensions of a held pose in a photo. It is practically impossible to properly convey any movement in a photo, even with lines and arrows. A beginner needs to see in motion how the various parts of a body flow.
So for those reasons I wouldn’t recommend trying to use a book – either mine or anyone else’s – to learn the
