These communities of microbes make a home out of our intestinal tract and are responsible for helping us to digesting and absorbing nutrients from our food food and they also synthesize some nutrients and neurotransmitters, help to regulate our immune system and more. Bottom line these little bugs living in our gut are very important for our health.
