Acceptance is one of the main invitations of mindfulness and is a key tool in mindset work. When we resist reality, we add struggle and suffering to our existence. We make hard things harder. Acceptance and acknowledgment mean that you stop resisting “what is.” Letting go of resistance to what is is not condoning or resigning or giving up, it is an act of caring. For yourself and others. From acceptance our ability to be curious, creative and find solutions is enhanced. Peace Begins with Me is a practice of acceptance. It’s a way of physically accepting and letting go and empowering yourself. Empowerment can also be found through "Accept and…" To radically accept means to wholly recognize and be with the reality you’re in - especially and even if it includes pain or discomfort. Tara Brach in her book Radical Acceptance defines acceptance as “the willingness to experience ourselves and our life as it is.” Adding the words “ in this moment” is a tool to help you move towards embracing and embodying the radical aspect of acceptance.
