Description
"and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace." (Ephesians 6:15)In this letter to the church at Ephesus, Paul is talking about all the ways God has provided for His people in the midst of their trials and temptations. This church not only faced persecution, but they were also infiltrated by false teachers who are spreading lies and bad theology. So, as Paul lists out items of God's armor for his saints, it's no surprise that he starts with truth, then righteousness, both of which are fully provided in Jesus. Here, Paul says to put on the shoes of the gospel of peace. What does that mean? The gospel is the good news that Jesus granted us peace with God through His life and death. Our future is secure! That means we can be ready to walk into every situation with our hearts at peace, proclaiming the gospel and trusting him. He's where the peace is and He's where the joy is!
