3 Things to note about current wellness trends include:

Anything that cuts out fruits and vegetables is not a good idea. For many of these fad diets, it’s important to look at who developed it and whether it is something that is in your best health interest in the long term. If the diet was created by someone other than a food scientist or registered dietitian, then it might not be backed by science and therefore not good for your health long term.
Instead of villainizing a certain ingredient such as processed sugar and cutting it from your diet, it is more helpful to look at your overall health habits. How often are you exercising? Are you skipping meals and overeating? Looking at the big picture of health will give you better results in the long term than cutting out one specific ingredient.
For supplements like sea moss or specialized ingredients such as alkaline water, or lion’s mane mushrooms, it's important to remember that these are not key components to weight loss or healthy lifestyles. If you have extra income, there is no harm in trying them but they won’t be the key to changing your life. A good rule of thumb is to consider ingredients that humans would traditionally eat from the land, animals, etc. Losing weight in a sustainable way shouldn’t come in a powdered form or necessarily break the bank.
