Description

The plaintiff says she and the defendant were friends until they moved in together. She says her roommate was a bad influence who brought undesirable people home and eventually moved out. The plaintiff is suing for unpaid rent. The defendant claims her ex-friend body-shamed her on social media and kicked her out of the house. She denies owing any rent.
Then, the plaintiff says she bought hair extensions from the defendant, but the quality was so bad that her friends laughed. She’s suing for a full refund. The defendant says the plaintiff has always been a difficult client, and there’s no way she’s refunding anything after the woman wore the extensions for two months. She’s countersuing for money still owed.

"The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
