Description

The biggest takeaways for me were one is the more space I create for and give to my team the better they're going to do instead of me, which I'm not a terrible task master I don't think anybody would tell you that on my team, but I do like to push hard sometimes. And there's their seasons for that, but I'm realizing that the more space I give my team, the better they're going to do.And then also for the first quarter of this year, like I have been working like crazy and not protecting my own time and space and my own containers. And so those were the two big takeaways. So I decided to wear my VIP bracelet until I'm confident and pleased with how I've implemented, everything that I learned there. And those are the main two things is to get much better at creating and protecting containers for myself and essentially for my team too, just creating space because the games that we played to were incredible and I it's so funny to me how, like the universe works and I've, I set an intention like six weeks ago that I wanted to become better at playing and better at having fun and like better, playing with my son and just being more expanding that part of my life. And so I generally fucking hate games. The one, I don't see the purpose of it. I was like, you know what, I'm going to do this. And I'm going to set aside all my garbage and all the mind trash with us and I did it. And then I'm so glad I did because it, the event taught me to be a better father. Which means more than anything else. I learned there to be honest. And then on top of that, it just I w I was able to borrow some of your courage in multiple areas.Entrepreneurship is a marathon and it's not a sprint. So slow down for a minute and figure out what you need to master it at this, in this season and managing a team I've in my first business, it definitely was a headache to me. And I think that was just mainly because I'd heard people talk about it that way. I'd seen ineffective leaders and they didn't understand relationships. When I started building this business. I don't know if I was conscious of the intention. Cause I was still, it took me years to process. The pain that I went through it was not like, I feel like only in the last three years I've forgiven myself and I think I'm like 90, 95% healthy whole, which is pretty good. But so in the beginning, I don't know if I was aware of it. Cause there was so much pain going on and second marriage to a bipolar person that failed. And then I third relationship, I got it straight and I'm very happy. But one thing I've learned, I'll point this out and I'll get to the main question is if you're not with the right person, good luck building a business. But as far as building a team relationship is the only leverage and motivation you have period. So if you understand that, then you'll invest in the relationship first with your team members and then you'll worry about everything else. One of my guiding principles is positive confrontation, which I've lived my whole life, honestly, but then maybe not always positive, but now it's positive confrontation. invest in as a person first, and then the other things will follow after that. And when you do that, if the heart is there in the attitude there, and the core of the person is in the right place, you can teach skill. And so if you want to manage a large team, you have to just invest in the relationships first, because that's the only leverage you have. People are only going to follow you or do what you ask or show up their best if you invest in them. And so that's my big secret, not that big of a secret of their run, a big team. It's like just. Take really good care of people and the rest of it will work out.challenges a common belief that I hear people say in entrepreneurship all the time, that's either really wholeheartedly agree to pitch or really rejected, which is, higher pers personality and then train skill. the one thing I'll say about attitude is that you can only truly s
