    Mid-Life NOT a Crisis - Terri Thompson

    Mid-Life NOT A Crisis

Increase health and vitality at any age.

The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.

    ∼Lucille Ball

What is it about youth that makes us covet it so much?

Youth is a wonderful thing. What a crime to waste it on children.

    ∼George Bernard Shaw

I saw a T-shirt that said, Thirty is the new twenty. The same company makes one that says, Forty is the new thirty. I assume the logic continues, but to what does the phrase refer? I hope it doesn’t imply a lack of maturity or obsessive need to party like so many twenty somethings. I hope they’re not predicting that we’ll make the same overconfident, inexperienced mistakes we made in our 20s either.

Some treasures only come through the experience of living. Treasures such as wisdom, kindness, and the rich rewards of family, to name a few.

A gray head is a crown of glory; It is found in the way of righteousness.

    ∼ Proverbs 16:31

Grandchildren are the crown of old men, And the glory of sons is their fathers.

    ∼ Proverbs 17:6

I choose to believe this new youth refers to health and vitality. These characteristics of youth need not be lost even as we earn the treasures gained by experience.

Still there are the obvious signs of aging. We can lie about our age, as Lucille Ball suggests, but telling signs such as lack of energy, waning muscle strength, joint pain, reduction in dexterity and balance, memory loss or fuzzy thinking and sleeplessness quickly remind us of the truth.

Could there be a way to maintain health and vitality as we age? I don’t believe we have to just accept these health problems. If we have a strong sense of self-worth and are willing to take care of ourselves, it is possible to improve our health.

Aging is not ‘lost youth,’ but a new stage of opportunity and strength.

∼Betty Friedan, American writer, activist & feminist

After thirty years of studying nutrition and alternative medicine, I’ve discovered a number of therapies that can transform a person’s health. Any one of them will make a noticeable improvement in the way you feel, but together they could revolutionize your life now and for as long as you practice them. Three out of four of these health-improving therapies are FREE! The other, food, is already accounted for in your budget and with some creativity it won’t cost you much more than you’re already paying.

A matter of minutes each day could radically change your health.

Mid-Life, NOT A Crisis shows you how.

In this book, we’ll highlight four practices that will improve your health.

    Deep Breathing

    Fresh Water

    Living Food

    Spiritual Nourishment
