About this audiobook

The next raucous, twisty crime novel from the master of the Quebec thriller! Rebellious cop Victor Lessard pursues a ruthless hunter who stalks the streets of Montreal.

“With its memorable characters, rich atmosphere, and shrewd plot, Without Blood is a welcome addition to Montreal noir.” — KATHY REICHS

“A strong Montreal setting and a twisty, dual-strand plot that keeps you guessing.” — PETER ROBINSON

A senior administrator is stabbed to death in his office at the Montreal General Hospital. In the east end of the city, a dead man is found in the trunk of a stolen BMW. A young woman is hospitalized after an apparent hit and run, but despite her doctor’s objections, she refuses treatment and sets off on a desperate search for the man who helped her.

Montreal police detective Victor Lessard and his team of investigators work to find the common thread linking these seemingly unrelated cases. It quickly becomes apparent that there’s no time to lose: a ruthless hunter has come to town, he’s spotted his prey, and he’s waiting for the right moment to close in for the kill.

This was a good story. Narrator did justice. Cool characters and interesting plot. I would liked to have just a moment of clarity right at the end, but I'm okay without it, I suppose. Enough to make me look for another of his books.

Liked the main storyline and twists. The 2nd story was interesting and didn't take away from the main story. Narrator ia great. Many clique lines, but seems to be the norm in modern writing.

The plot line was very unique and unexpected. The characters were well developed. The narrator was ok, but he did not change his tone of voice for the different characters which made it confusing. And I could have done without the “question” session near the end. The only thing that kept me listening at that point was to know what happened in the aftermath.

Good story, but I'm not crazy about a male voice narrating a first-person female character. It's disconcerting.
The narration was very good...IF he was speaking as a male character

This was the 3rd audiobook I’ve listened to by this author / narrator and the one I enjoyed the least.
The story was interesting but I found it confusing as the story jumped from character POV and time without notice or explanation.
I found myself constantly wondering what was going on when the POV jumped and story changed and would have to figure out who was supposed to be telling their story at any given moment.

The over all murder mystery was good I just didn't like the comma story it was useless and confusing it added nothing g to the main story line

Another great story with twists and turns which gradually start falling into place. should have read this before 'Never forget' though, as in sequence storyline would be before. Extremely well written with such an original story and again the narrator did a very good job of giving life to the characters!

Dear Gawd. The gallons and gallons of booze, coffee and Pepto-Bismol that the characters in this book have to swig down for the sake of "realism" as a counter-balance to the paranormal element in this story... Nonetheless, it's well worth one's while to keep on going to the end to see if anone ever has need of a pee. No spoilers here.
