Description

The plaintiff was friends with the defendant for almost 40 years. He says he bought four cars for the defendant, but she kept crashing them. He’s suing for the balance of car loans, storage fees, and harassment. The defendant argues she has been paying the plaintiff back.
Then, the plaintiff rented a house from the defendant and claims it was a mouse-infested mess. She hired exterminators to get rid of the problem, but the landlord never paid her back. She’s suing for the security deposit, moving costs, extermination costs, and storage fees. The defendant argues the plaintiff’s husband broke a fuel pipe and she stopped paying, so he needed to evict her. He’s countersuing for additional rent.
Plus, the plaintiff brings his son’s ex-girlfriend to court. He claims she took his vehicle without permission and crashed into the car when she was rubbernecking. He’s suing for damages. The defendant argues she only “tapped” the car in front of her when she was going slowly, and this whole thing only became a big deal after they broke up.

For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. "The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
