Description
Today I chat with professional runner Angel Piccirillo about her running career including her experiences working under a female coach at the college level to a now-all female sponsored team Oiselle. We also chat about diversity in the sport of track and field including her experiences as Black American distance runner. Angel is from Homer City, outside Pittsburgh, PA. She attended and ran for Villanova University, competing in anything from the 4x400 to cross country, but now mostly focuses on the 800-1500m as a pro. She is a 9x All American and NCAA 1000m record holder. She also recently competed in the US Olympic Trials in the 800meter race. Angel is engaged to fellow runner Patrick Tiernan who is an Australian Olympian and she has a dog she adores, Bailey.
