Description

In this episode of the Female Athlete Nutrition podcast, I talk with Claudia Hanna, host of the “If This Food Could Talk” podcast. Deeply passionate about sharing the warm culture and foods of the Mediterranean, Claudia teaches Eat Like a Greek cooking classes and writes about the Mediterranean lifestyle on her blog Live Like a Goddess and as a freelance writer. Claudia shares her story from corporate America to living her dream in Cyprus, alongside the large impact her family’s heritage has had on this journey.  Claudia and I dive deep into all things Mediterranean, differentiating between the Mediterranean lifestyle and diet: only a small part of what makes the lifestyle so healthy promoting. For Claudia, the Mediterranean lifestyle encompasses 5 key pillars: diet; family and community; faith and spirituality; better career choices for women; and the sharing of generational wisdom. We talk about foods that define the Mediterranean diet: olive oil, garlic, onions, lemon, and fish, alongside cooking and preparation tips, and ways to incorporate them into your diet and lifestyle. Claudia shares about her podcast “If This Food Could Talk: A History Show for Everyone Who Eats”, and her business “Athena’s Bump”, a maternal nutrition company focusing on helping mothers fuel through all stages of pregnancy. We finish off with the usual end of the podcast questions.
