Description
+++ IT'S ABOUT COMPETENCY +++
Have you ever encountered someone who surprised you by their level of incompetence?
The surprise came because you assumed based upon their title or role, they should know more than they are demonstrating.
I've had one or two professors who made me wonder how they made it to the level of being hired as a professor. I leave their class thinking it would have been better if I stayed home and did self-learning.
The issue ... competency.
According to dictionary dot com, competence means: the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.
That's what was lacking in a couple of my professors.
But let's take this one step further; what about leaders? I would dare say, there are numerous leaders who have a title or a role given to them, but lack the competency to perform successfully in their role.
In a recent study, many world leaders gave what they thought were important leadership competencies. Here are five of them outlined in this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show.
