This book will be a special treat for you, especially if you do not like to take pills to feel better.

Chapter 1 – Go Out There
One of the first things that you can do to battle depression is to go out there. Get out into the sunshine. Leave the darkness of your room to get more than just glimpses of the outside world. Bask in the sunlight. Literally, take time to pick some flowers.
Not just a symbol
Sunlight is not just a symbolic sign of things getting better. It can actually lift your mood by producing more serotonin in your brain. And this chemical helps you feel a lot happier.
By contrast, winter months do not just look bleak, but also produce a bleak feeling for those who are suffering from seasonal affective disorder (SAD). With less sunlight peeking in, SAD sufferers are prone to moodiness, fatigue, and an overpowering feeling of melancholy. Even those who do not have SAD cannot help but feel happier during sunny days. They also tend to be more prone to feeling down during rainy and wintry days.
Generally, sunlight can help get a healthy individual out of a rut. So, if you are feeling depressed, the chance is you will feel a lot better if the day is sunny. Take advantage of the spring and summer months when the sun is more prominent and at its peak level of strength. In the winter, you have to battle a lot harder.
Unfortunately, scientists are not too sure how sunlight or the lack of it can affect those who are already suffering from SAD. Sure, SAD sufferers are more prone to depression during rainy days and winter months, but there is no guarantee that they could be cured by sunny days. However, it is at least almost a certainty that they will feel a lot better on a sunny day.

After all, it takes a lot of strength and courage to just get up and leave your bed to see the world. Depressed people just want to lie under the covers. Some have even gone catatonic. Going out is a sign of positive things to come, although it is not a sign that the problem has been completely solved.
For some people, just getting themselves out of bed and into the shower is a triumph. In other words, it is best to
