Making a good start to the morning is a form of momentum, giving you the energy and control you need to have a good day. Begin the morning in a stressed rush, and that will set the tone for the next few hours.

Try getting up at least 30 minutes earlier than necessary, preferably before your partner and children, so you have some quiet time to yourself – you can do some yoga stretches or meditation, or just sit with a cup of tea and reflect on the day ahead. Sorting what you’re going to wear the night before, including accessories, and locating the papers and other items you need, all helps you to start on a positive note every day.
