Green smoothies have tons of benefits, most especially those with kale, lettuce, spinach, and collard greens. For the more advanced smoothie drinkers, you can put in watercress, dandelion greens, and parsley. Any leafy green can be a great addition to mangoes, avocadoes, pears, bananas or other fruit smoothies. 
Among some of green smoothies’ benefits are the following:  
1. It helps you stay hydrated. Although drinking 8 - 10 glasses of water per day is essential, dietary experts believe that many people don’t take this seriously. The main reason is because they think that water is tasteless. So they rather drink lots of smoothies to keep them on the go. If this describes you a lot, try adding a cup of water to your smoothie. 
2. Green smoothies are very easy to digest. Because they’re obviously liquefied and blended, they are quick to digest. Your body doesn’t necessarily have to work too hard in breaking down food to extract nutrients. For people suffering from indigestion following a heavy meal at lunch or dinner, a cup of green smoothie is a must! 
3. Green smoothies are low-calorie but filling treats. Because they contain huge amounts of fiber and water combined, green smoothies make you feel full as if you just had a plate of burger and fries. If you’re cutting down weight, a cup per day will help you curb your cravings while melting off those pounds away. 
4. It helps you provide a lasting energy source. Fruits and vegetables are a great source of energy – we all know that! But if it is mixed with sugar, it doesn’t work that way.
