I grew up in South Yorkshire, England, before emigrating to South Australia at the age of sixteen. My writing ambitions began as a child, when I became notorious in my class for writing short horror stories that would probably have them calling in the child psychologists nowadays! I have written everything from non-fiction ebooks to published short fiction, and served as script editor on two proposed horror feature film scripts for an LA based director. In terms of fiction I have written dozens of novellas, including more than 70 stories in the "Ian's Gang" sci-fi adventure series. I still live in Queensland, where I work as a freelance writer.

CHAPTER ONE

Ian Williams woke up.

And everything was black and white.

He blinked, then blinked again, rubbed his eyes furiously and looked around.

The room remained resolutely monochrome.

"Oh, shit! Panicking, Ian jumped out of bed and, not bothering to change out of his pyjamas, ran from the room and in to the lounge, where the rest of the gang was already gathered, watching the television. My eyes! Ian jabbered wildly. I think I'm going blind or something!"

Relax, Matthew said patronisingly. It's not just you.

Ian looked at him, bewildered. What?

We're all like it, Steve noted grumpily.

Ian was wide-eyed. You're all seeing in black and white?

Afraid so, Robert shrugged.

Even Banix?

Even Banix, the robot confirmed.

Ian was gobsmacked. Well, what the hell is going on?

Dunno, Matthew chuckled, "but Philip thought it was just him, too. He cried, the big Jessie."

I did no such thing! Philip protested.

"So that wasn’t you saying you wanted your mummy?" Matthew jibed.

"No, I was saying I wanted your mummy," Philip licked his lips lasciviously.
