The back story... The MCs have known each other since they were 6 years old and have had an antagonistic relationship. The h has a solid dislike of the H. The drama explosion... A blast from the past shakes the h.
Did it feel real or contrived? Semi-real
Was it OTT? A bit
Separation involved? Short
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Properly, then the end is rushed.
Final Notes... Cute story stemming from poor communication and an unwillingness of the H to go against the h's brother.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love me some fake dating!! I always get wrapped up in how these characters are going to go from usually hating each other to developing real feelings. There’s always great chemistry between ones trying to fake it and fight it. Once again I found a book where I didn’t start at the beginning of the series...
This one was super cute. There was great banter, intense feelings, and a really good storyline that was easy to follow even though I jumped into the end of the series. Laurel needs to get the unwanted attention from her coworker off her. She’s about to get caught in her lie of having a boyfriend until she spots Jack across the bar. Jack is her brothers best friend, and these two have been bickering since they were children. Thankfully Jack plays along and gets Laurel out of her bind, but at a cost. She needs to help him in return, and pretend to be his girlfriend for two whole months. They can’t help digging at each other every time they together. Jack is slowly realizing how much more he wants to learn about Laurel, and she is having a really hard time keeping her walls up with him out.
The only thing I didn’t like the best is that I felt some scenes got caught off a bit. I felt like there were lots of time jumps where more feelings and thoughts could’ve been mentioned, but it’s not a huge draw back at all. The book was still excellent. There were quite a few themes at play that worked well together with the enemies to lovers, brothers best friend, and secret romance. I absolutely loved how they all came together and will highly recommend this book. I do want to read more from this author for sure after this book!1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book. It was the typical romance plot line, but the characters actually dealt with things in a fairly mature fashion which made it delightful. The narrators were perfect!!!
