What a surprise! I’ve been relistening to The Slayers Hockey series and stumbled upon Dirty Groom, the 6th installment. A take on the Vegas marriage trope with a good storyline, likable characters, and pretty good narration. The challenge faced by Liam toward the story’s end is more angsty compared to the other books, but in keeping with the other titles, Liam and Stormy get their HEA. The male narrator wasn’t as strong as the female, but the story made up for it. I’d recommend Dirty Groom!

ARC was provided for an honest review, and I can honestly say, I cannot get enough of these Slayers hockey men. It’s bordering on obsession. The thing about Mira’s writing, you get sucked in right away because she unfolds a story with just the right amount of info strategically left out to be revealed later. You make assumptions, and sometimes you’re right, and sometimes the puck is coming from the other side and flies right by you.

Everyone loves a drunk marriage in Vegas troupe. Liam and Stormy’s story is a whirlwind from the start. It’s been a year since their one night in Vegas, and when their paths cross again, this time it’s much harder to stay away from each other. Talking about divorce seems to be a bit difficult when they are trying to keep the whole marriage a secret in the first place. How can they talk about divorce when they keep finding reasons to talk and see each other…

Secrets always have a way of coming out, and when this marriage is exposed these two decide to fake it and keep up a pretence. But will they be able to stay detached as they spend more time together? When the tension builds to a point they can’t deny it anymore, it’s just scratching an itch right…? They agreed they were on the same page from the start. Will that last?

I had a really hard time putting this book down. I loved the undeniable chemistry between these characters. I still loved the turns I saw coming, and the twists I didn’t see kept me on my toes. I had all the feels; funny with comical banter, loving with sweet moments, hot with the spicy scenes, and even mad and sad at times. I highly recommend this book. And make sure you read the entire series as well ? The worst part about this book, is having to wait so long for the next one!

Just like everyone else said before the male narrator's female voice is awful. I stopped listening after 10 minutes.

I’m enjoying this book, but I’ve never hated an actor’s “voice” worse than I do this guy’s when he’s reading the woman’s dialogue. It’s honestly the worst I’ve ever heard and I can’t figure out why the author or the producer thought he was a good match. I mean, he’s great when he’s reading dialogue as the man, but BEYOND HORRIBLE reading with the woman’s voice. He makes her sound like a nitwit.

I loved the previous Slayer’s audiobooks and I was looking forward to this one, but I couldn’t get past the male narrator’s female voice. DNF!

I loved all the other books but I could not get passed this narrator’s voice.

The audio is horrible. Wayne Mitchell’s male voice is great. His female voice sounds like when men do a girly voice to mock a woman. Couldn’t get passed chapter 3.
