The unplanned pregnancy trope

A trope which will never be my fave and no matter how hard an author tries to pull it out the bag, I just can't seem to enjoy the story as much as I should.

Alexi and Diana have a healthy way of Co-parenting, and from the offset, I probably wouldn't put them together, but their current situation forces them to spend a lot of time together.

Alexi isn't my favourite hero. He comes across as too alpha and not in a great way. He's definitely trying to be seen as the caring alpha type, but it came across as controlling. Diana also gets herself into one too many dangerous situations, and after the third time, I started questioning how she managed to survive in life, never mind how she'll manage to keep a baby alive later on.

I wanted more intensity during their romance. It seemed to lack it when it came to the steamy moments. I never felt the need for them both to rip each others clothes off.

I read this out of order from the other books and didn't feel as if I needed to know what else had happened, but it made me want to find out.

The lack of Russian accent in Lexi, was a major disappointment, wish there would have a tiny narrative where Mandy acknowledges Lexis past fears and reconciliation with Sophia. The mystery of why Lexi fears for healthy baby IMHO was to drawn out. But overall strong plot with a good flow.
