Description
Today I'm talking to Ruth Watson of Ecologico UK. She helps people people live more sustainably through education, sustainable retail and responsible gifting. In this episode we discuss: How becoming a parent means entering a consumerist world with very emotive advertising and making choices you've never thought of before How parenthood is often a time when we start thinking about the impact we're having on the world and what we're bringing our children into Second hand stuff for children and the stigma that can surround it Breastfeeding as a sustainable option and what you can do make it even greener How to make sustainable choices without putting too much pressure on an already stressful time of life This is a slightly different focus than usual as it's less about mum's health and wellbeing, but given the interest in leaving a lighter footprint, I think it's interesting to learn more about living more sustainably. Plus, it's a topic I'm passionate about and love learning more about it! But what drew me to Ruth is her practical, no-nonsense approach. She's very down-to-earth and not all or nothing in her approach - she's all about making small, practical changes on a regular basis that adds up over time.
