Description

The plaintiffs, a mother and daughter, sent the daughter’s laptop to the defendant’s repair shop. The plaintiffs say the computer wasn’t ready after six months and claim that the defendant threw the laptop away. They’re suing for the cost of a laptop, irreplaceable photos, and travel expenses. The defendant argues the computer system was corrupted and he tried telling them that, but the plaintiffs never came back for their computer. He’s countersuing for unpaid labor and services.
Then, the plaintiff says she used to date the defendant, who offered her a business deal. She claims he asked her to breed dogs with him, but then he refused to let her see the dog and won’t pay her back. She’s suing for pain and suffering. The defendant argues he and the plaintiff had a business arrangement and she backed out, so he refuses to pay. He’s countersuing for time wasted.
Plus, the plaintiff says she rented an apartment from the defendant, and she’s suing because she can’t get her security deposit back. The defendant says the plaintiff moved out without notice and damaged the window screens. He’s countersuing for additional charges.

The honorable Judge Marilyn Milian presides over the four-time Emmy award winning "The People’s Court." For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. And now, you can take the show on the go with "The People’s Court Podcast." "The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
