Description

Sports psychology consultant and owner of 2nd Wind Head Over Heels Training, Cheryl Hart is with us today to share some strategies on how we can conquer negative self-talk. Because if you talk negatively to yourself, you will never be able to reach the goals you set for yourself. We talk about so much in this episode and touch on:1. Your psychological core is your values, beliefs, and attitudes - often people don't spend enough time with these in determining who they really are - their real selves.2. Thoughts that we have of ourselves that we run on a record every day becomes our self-concept. Be aware of your self talk.3. Use thought stopping techniques to make yourself aware when you are having negative thoughts about yourself.4. To increase mental toughness, create a list of unique qualities and abilities you have in order to develop an unstoppable self-belief.5. When you are being negative, come up with 1-3 key words or phases to bring yourself more into a positive frame.6. Ask yourself introspective questions when figuring out your true self. Who had a lot of influence over you when you were young and forming your self-concept? Who do you model yourself on now?7. Just one person who believes in you can make all the difference in the world. It could be a coach, spouse, parent, friend, etc.8. You have to get a handle on your self-talk in order to be able to really set good goals because negative self-talk can affect the type of goals you will set for yourself.9. Discovering yourself is like peeling back an onion, layer by layer and it doesn't happen overnight.10. Celebrate your successes and add it to a written list of your accomplishments. You can use this list when you feel down or insecure. This list is your highlight reel.Cheryl can be reached at:Her website:  http://2ndwindmotivation.com/Facebook - Cheryl Hart or 2ndWindMotivationYou can continue to find me at all of these places - and remember - SIGN UP for my Newsletter!Sign up for my Weekly to Bi-Weekly Newsletter:https://landing.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/d9l0z0Instagram:http://www.instagram.com/lesleylmcshaneThe PRIVATE The New Old You Facebook page:Come talk to me here:Find me on my Website:https://www.lesleylmcshane.comFREE: Midlife in Motion ROADMAP I want more details on the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:I don't need details, I want IN in the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:Schedule a Kickstarter Call to get your nutrition and fitness on track!Connect with me on Instagram:Get Redesigning Midlife Weekly Updates:Find your community at the private Redesigning Midlife Facebook Group:You Deserve It Notebook: Goal Tracker, Planner, ...
