Description

Welcome to another episode of Monday minutes, where our job is to kickstart your Monday set focus, set your direction under five minutes or less, and sometimes six or seven, but I'll keep it there. Do it, put in the work or I'm kicking you in the shins with the biggest loving grin on my face to put you into action, but let's get into it.So what's today's focus for Monday. Today's focus is about getting stronger and not flexing. We need to stop flexing and we need to start getting stronger. You see, when you think about professional athletes or professionals, anybody you think about a marathon runner, they can't just go run a marathon every single day to get faster to a marathon.Think about it as a weightlifter. They might be the deadlift world record holder, but they're not going to deadlift every single day to get stronger. We have to do the supportive exercises to make that lift possible, to make that run possible. We have to train the entire ecosystem in order for it to be successful. And all too often, I see people too busy flexing in the mirror instead of getting stronger.  If you have a product, sell it. If you have a service, sell it, but don't just sell it every day. Once you sell it, spend the rest of your time. Fortifying it. What works, what doesn't work, how can I make it better? How can I ensure my customer achieves the goal? How can I empower my team? How can we iterate it? How can we improve upon it? How can I support it with all those other movements and exercises that help me make it successful?  So think about weight loss and analogy for business. Let's say you want to lose weight and get in shape. At max, you're going to work out for two hours a day. That leaves you 22 hours a day to support that movement. Now you might be going to work out six hours a day, but realistically or not, and it's going to kill you. And you understand that.  So instead you have to work out the two hours a day and then you have to split up the other 22 hours to fortify. What you've done. You have to eat. You have to move, you have to sleep. You have to hydrate. You have to supplement, you have to stretch, you have to recover and your performance or your results in that weight loss or fitness training come from the 22 hours a day primarily and only a little bit from what you put out in that performance, your sales, your marketing, your business comes from all the daily committed actions you take of those supportive muscles to help move the needle in your business, not the thing that you go flex in the mirror.  So if you flex without a foundation, it's like pudding, it's mushy, it'll fall away and it'll disintegrate. But if you put all the work into the foundation, into the supportive exercises, into the stretching, into the mobility, IE into your customer journey, into your team, into your culture, into your marketing, into your messaging, into your fulfillment sequences, into your product, into the iterations of your product. Then when you go sell that product, not only is it sold. But it delivers on the promise and it's reinforced to carry the promise was given to you and to your customers. And so sell it and then reiterate it and then, and work on your customer journey. Work on yourself. Create more space, create more time, get more clarity, practice more. On all those supportive muscles so that big movement can win. Or so when it's time to run that race you can win was because that's the difference that it's going to make in your business.  And so if we do all we do is flex. It's all show and no go and business is done on the go. And so you need to think about this in everything that you do with your business because it's easy to flex. It's easy to get distracted. It's easy to be like, look what I'm doing. Look what I'm doing. Look what I'm doing. But if all you're doing is flexing, you're not really getting stronger and in business, and in life, it's the things that we do that nobody sees that makes the performance that they do
