It was early on Saturday morning. I woke up starving for some reason and I came down to get something from the fridge. A quick glance at the clock told me that it was six. My daughter and her friend Amber had come home for college during the summer, and both had been staying at my place for three days now. I was used to living alone, but I was extra quiet not to wake them up.

My daughter, Liz, had been friends with Amber for as long as I could remember, but I hadn’t seen the now twenty-one-year-old girl for a few years. She had always been a girly girl, from what I’d remembered. She had been fond of dresses and skirts, and she wore make-up and tried to appear as feminine as possible.
