I’ll grow for you, Megan said to me. It was our third date, and the context was a bit of gentle teasing.

I usually only date tall girls, I had said to Megan. She was only five feet tall, easily the shortest girl I had ever been on a date with, though the claim I only dated tall girls was a lie.

I had dated one tall girl, Kasey, an athletic six-footer, the only girl I had ever been out with who stood taller than my five-foot-ten-inch frame. It had been exhilarating. Our relationship, while only going on for four months was passionate, and filled with great sex. At least until I screwed it up.
