Sean was waiting at the airport nervously. The person he was waiting to see was his childhood best friend, Carly, who he hadn’t seen since her family had moved away five years ago. Sean and Carly had kept in touch, and toward the end of high school she had applied to colleges on the east coast. When Carly’s family had moved to California from Boston when he was thirteen, Sean had been devastated. He had been waiting for this moment ever since.

Why so nervous then? He and Carly had managed to stay close over the years thanks to the internet. They played video games together, chatted on skype, and shared pictures via Facebook. Yet, they had never talked about two very important things, the kiss that they had shared that last summer they had seen each other, and the fact that Sean had been in love with Carly for years.

The kiss had been Sean’s first kiss, but none that he had since then had been able to hold a candle to it. There were several reasons why that might be. Sean had never liked another human being as much as he liked
