Flicking back through an old photo album, I chuckled at the pictures in front of me.
Stabbing my acrylic nail on the snapshot, I didn’t recognise myself.
‘I was such a tomboy,’ I said, squinting at the picture.
‘You really were,’ my mum replied, nodding.
Ever since I was young, I always wanted to be in baggy, oversized jumpers and jeans.
While I was born female, I felt exactly like one of the lads.
All of my school friends were boys, and their company put me at ease.
I didn’t have any girly drama and my style was a lot more accepted with the boys.
‘I wish you would wear a dress,’ Mum sniggered as I reached for another sweatshirt.
