Simone loved few things more than visiting a gym in a new city. She was in Portland on a business trip, and there was a gym at her hotel, but she couldn’t resist buying a day pass to a gym that was down the street from the conference hall she had spent the better part of the day at.

Of course, she had been getting those looks all day. Men in her profession weren’t used to seeing a six-foot-two-inch black woman with bulging muscles walk into the room. Her suit hid a lot of her muscularity in the upper body, but there were definitely times where her coat would pull tight against her shoulders, or her bicep would bulge in her sleeve that would leave little doubt to how big she really was.
