    THE DEFINITION OF STRESS

    To begin with, let's start with the definition of stress so that we are on the same page. Stress is defined as a feeling of physical or emotional strain. It's also a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from (or as a result of) adverse or very demanding circumstances. Stress is your body and minds reaction to a challenge or deadline. Your brain causes hormones to flood your bodily systems. However, when stress lasts for an extended period of time, it can be harmful and even detrimental to your health and well being.

    It can be caused by a variety of external factors, such as: work, school, relationships, finances, health problems. It can vary in its level of seriousness from person to person. You can develop stress from good challenges as well as bad ones. Stress can be both positive and negative. Positive stress can motivate us to perform well, while negative stress can lead to anxiety, depression, and other health problems.

    COMMON TYPES OF STRESS

    Stress is a psychological and even a physiological threat or challenge that signals the body to engage the 'fight or flight' response, releasing chemicals and hormones to help you respond effectively. It can be a healthy defense mechanism, but becomes problematic when it is frequent or chronic. Stress can often weigh heavily on your nerves when it builds up, causing you to feel depressed. You may
