Neglected Self, Spirit of Unrest

About this ebook
This is an inspired work that is offered to help the reader find commonality with others and to help them see their own perfect imperfection in a glorious light. While there are more things about us that make us alike than things about us that make us different, the differences are so very profound that no one else could possibly be as good at being us as we are ourselves. This book deals with the discovery, investigation, examination, and utilization of aspects of ourselves that make us so special and the unique path of discovery which gives rise to the questions: Who are we? Why are we here? What are we to do? Is there someone in charge of this seemingly well thought out program, and if there is, may we have a word? It seems a meeting is in order, so let us determine where and when we shall convene!

Dedications
General Dedication
This book is generally dedicated to all men and women, infants to the aged. May there be some small area within yourselves which will be ministered to, and may you be inspired to continue on the journey of this life in good health and spirit. May God keep you, and may your walk along the way be such that you make the face of God to shine.
Special Dedication
To the Late Michael A. Abdullah, a.k.a. Michael Lee Bright,
With Love & Appreciation
For caring enough to ask me the question, Who Are You?
Introduction
This book has been a long time coming. The introduction written here is just that, an introduction; you are actually meeting me. You see, I am this little book; the very fiber of my being is written here. Though language is merely a representation of the schematic framework in which we think, I’ve given some time and effort to putting some things in this writing which I believe can assist in making the journey through life easier to fully participate in, understand and enjoy.
Normally, when people meet or are introduced, the very first item mentioned is one’s name, then at times, one’s relationship to others—such as sister, brother, nephew, friend, mother, father, boss, coworker, pastor, or attorney and the like. These kinds of titles and labels in introductions are considered honorable mentions.
Of course, in the end, you have no knowledge of the person you’ve met; their names and titles are simply designated terms that refer to one person as opposed to another. You have simply established a superficial means of identifying a physical body.
The real person, however, is in there somewhere. Somewhere in the mix of things, titles, and relative terms, there is a soul, a being with wants, needs, hopes, dreams, fears, aspirations, shortcomings, strengths, and manifestations yet to be realized and accomplished.
I am one being, one soul striving toward the betterment of myself, which includes the uplifting and enhancing of others and the dressing and keeping of the earth to the glory of God. I press toward the fulfillment of righteousness in my journey through this world, and I have hope and confidence in that which awaits me when all is said and done here. I am one who is careful of being real in my walk and my talk, for I am convinced of what I’ve seen from this side of death; we apparently are not given the option of reliving actual moments in time to correct errors, undo harshness, or remove injury we’ve inflicted on those on our paths.
I am that I am, created in the image of the God I serve. Humans are charged by the Creator to be pleasing in His sight, making His face to shine upon them. This I am, and I believe, my Beloved Reader, you are also charged!
It is certainly nice to meet you...
Special Note and Request
Receive these words as coming from someone who has erred and been given the grace and the presence of mind to think and learn from the errors. While I have not made every mistake there is to make, I’ve certainly made my share and some important decisions which cannot be made again for myself or those affected by the decisions. These charges written herein are such that I have been guilty of in many cases; therefore I know firsthand how it goes. Truth has been revealed to me in a way that I am able to understand and am allowed to convey and translate. I am compelled by the Self that I am to confess that which I know, by the power of God, for the betterment of my fellow man. Please remember, this is only my limited understanding and ability to put into words that which must come forth through me. As you receive these words in a right spirit and find a proper place for them, Be Ye Therefore Blessed!
Chapter One
The Current of World Flow
It has been said, if you can control a people’s language, you can control their thinking. It is only possible to think in terms of words and expressions exposed to in our life-functioning experiences. If we learn to speak in an English speaking land, we shall speak English. If we learn to speak in Russia, Russian will be the language we will speak, and so forth and so on. While living in our native town of Boston and having a distinct accent of that region, if we should suffer damage to the speech center of our brain but upon recovery are taught to rebuild speech through training and tutorial by a speech therapist who was born and raised in Alabama and happens to have a lovely Southern drawl, we will speak with a Southern drawl. Bostonian dialect is lost. As we travel through life from one place to another, we pick up terminology and slang sayings of these environments, we even replace and drop patterns learned long before. We think in the terms, expressions, and sounds we have been taught and to which we have been exposed.
However, before words are formed in the mind, there are emotions, feelings, and essences which are as natural as a blowing wind. These are intangible aspects of man’s existence here on earth. This is Self; these untouchable aspects or areas are untouchable merely by human hands but are reachable and translatable through words, artistic physical expressions, and deeds or acts. So we attempt to share or show what we are experiencing. And, of course, outside forces reach us in the place of these natural essences, operating by the use of these same tools: words, deeds, acts, etc. We call this exchange, communication. Because we have a very live inner man, or Self, these forms of communication or expressions will never be enough. We cannot, in a conjured up schematic framework of words and expressions, confine or encompass the true meaning of the workings (essences) of the inner man who lived long before language was developed.
We are living in pursuit of expressing and relating to the totality of a man. Until we acknowledge the inner man, we will not be able to understand Self, let alone have the needs of a man met. Because we have so many generations gone before of ignoring the existence of Self, we have been left with the simple desire to fit in the scheme of things.
So we use the language of the day, and we are willing to perform the deeds and acts of this day. We toil on from one extreme to the other. This is how we manage to feel a sense of belongingness. In reality there will never be enough money for things—never a nice enough house or car, never so fine an article of clothing, no food so delectable, no drug to produce a high so nice, never a handsome enough man nor a beautiful enough woman. No human, no matter how fine to behold with human eyes, and no sex act so fulfilling can meet the need of the inner man, or the Self. No man or woman could ever make us feel so good as to remove the need or quench the thirst of Self. We want to believe that if we can ever live in such a way as to have the highest standard of the day in terms of lifestyle and things acquired, we will have arrived. That this is all there is, and no more can be gained or gotten. Yet when we look around us, we see those with things we desire, and we bear witness to the fact that there is misery with them, just as it is with us. They suffer with strife and struggle many times more intensely than we who are without, in some cases. Money and things have produced evils like warring against others and
