    Spicy Indian Dahl

    Ingredients

    one cup red lentils

    two tablespoons ginger root, minced

    one teaspoon mustard seed

    two tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

    four tomatoes, chopped

    three onions, chopped

    three jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced

    one tablespoon ground cumin

    one tablespoon ground coriander seed

    six cloves garlic, minced

    two tablespoons olive oil

    one cup water

    salt to taste

    Preparation

    Let the lentils boil over medium heat. Cook till the lentils become soft

    Pour oil in a medium skillet and put over medium heat, then add the mustard seeds. When they begin to flutter, gently add onions, jalapeno peppers, ginger, and garlic. Cook until the garlic and onions become golden brown.

    Add cumin and coriander. Then add chopped tomatoes.
