About this ebook
Nikki has lived her whole life in the dark of supernatural world all around her. She works at a library with her best friend Zelda by day, seeming meek and mild to the town, but behind closed doors, she preys on attractive men from out of town who are just passing through. For some reason though, a new, handsome drifter isn’t paying her any attention at all.
Nikki quickly learns that the drifter bears a terrible secret, and when tragedy strikes, an unlikely mysterious warrior named Myles arrives to help her avenge a death that nearly breaks her.
She is soon thrust into a world of fantasy transposed over the everyday world—a place with bloody debts to be paid, revenge to be exacted, and warring packs of werewolves. Join her as she seeks vengeance alongside a steamy werewolf for a tragedy she never could have imagined.
D.C. Chagnon
D.C. Chagnon was born in a quiet little town in Tennessee, and this was also the place where her love for the romantic and exciting was born. The author remembers days spent running on hillsides and swimming in brooks, and endless hours spent reading books that were her escape from the mundane. It was on a fateful summer day when the teenager wrote her first romantic short story as a submission for a local paper’s contest. Signed under a pseudonym, her story that told of summer and the sun, of a friendship gone beyond its limits, and heart-aching tragedy, garnered praise and the first prize for the young story-teller. She was eighteen, and on that day, she decided that she wanted to write for the rest of her life. The author is happily enjoying the married life with her husband of five years and their two young children. She is an avid traveler and has sought every opportunity to tour places halfway across the globe. While at home, the author makes it a full-time commitment to be a mom, but also spends a lot of her time coming up with new story material. She is often heard saying how difficult it is to balance being a wholesome house mom while writing erotic fiction on the side. While she outwardly claims her inspirations to be the likes of renowned novelists Lisa Kleypas and Anne Rice, she does admit to being a fan of the more current works such as those of the Fifty Shades of Grey author and the Twilight series. On her off times, she can also be seen reading the more wholesome works by Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.

In the Dark
I don't know why you do it, Nikki. You work all day at the library, and then you take on extra shifts at this bar when you really don't need the money,
my best friend Zelda said. She was by far the most honest and trustworthy woman I had ever met in my life. If someone needed it, she would give them her last dollar or her last meal without thinking anything of it. Zelda was everything that I wanted to be, and her life revolves around helping others.
I wish I could say that I was magnanimous, but I really want to go to Jamaica this year, and I can't do that without having the necessary funds. If Gerald keeps giving me these shifts, I don't see any reason why I can't finally make it onto those white-sand beaches,
I jested with a bit of glee. I felt a little selfish for doing this for myself, but I thought it was high time that I pulled off the shackles of servitude and walked amongst those that lived a more carefree and casual lifestyle. I know what you're thinking, but you couldn't be further from the truth. Some of this money is earmarked to the church to help them build the new roof that they need,
I added. She'd always made me feel guilty about having a little extra money, but I knew that she didn't mean to.
I didn't say anything, and I think it's a great idea that you take a vacation for the first time in your life. You've been stuck in this one-horse town for too long, and getting away from this place would do you some good,
Zelda said.
There were the usual regulars in the place, as well as a man that I hadn't seen before. He had long dark hair, a bushy black beard, and eyes that told me he had seen more things in this life than anybody should. There was something haunting about his whole demeanor, and I could easily see that something was eating him up inside.
What's with the new guy?
I said curiously. I was still looking at him, and he didn't look like he was all that friendly to begin with.
"Don't know much about him, only that he came into town the other day and hasn't left yet. At first I took him for a drifter, but now I think he
