About this ebook

In the steamy Middle East, engineering intern Josie and handsome oil-tycoon Sheikh Jamal Zahid have just had their first intimate encounter—a passionate embrace, which neither allowed to follow through. She finds him brash, sexist, and yet still the most coolly collected and confident man she’s ever come across. Josie’s the only person willing to challenge him, the only person who sees him for his rude conduct, and the only person who can get under his skin—even though his stoic face never betrays him. Because of all of this, he insists that she needs to be tamed but cannot control his wandering eyes and hidden lusts around her.

Meanwhile, the sheikh’s family and Josie’s friends play matchmakers and troublemakers, vicariously living through the two of them and watching their sarcastic fights unfold. Between encounters with ex-lover supermodel, awkward business meetings with the sheikh’s family as he corrects her etiquette, and fiery trips into the field where Josie feels simultaneously most at home and most vulnerable to the sheikh, this romance leading up to an Arabian kiss will challenge these two strong-willed characters in ways they could have never imagined.

Author

D.C. Chagnon

D.C. Chagnon was born in a quiet little town in Tennessee, and this was also the place where her love for the romantic and exciting was born. The author remembers days spent running on hillsides and swimming in brooks, and endless hours spent reading books that were her escape from the mundane. It was on a fateful summer day when the teenager wrote her first romantic short story as a submission for a local paper’s contest. Signed under a pseudonym, her story that told of summer and the sun, of a friendship gone beyond its limits, and heart-aching tragedy, garnered praise and the first prize for the young story-teller. She was eighteen, and on that day, she decided that she wanted to write for the rest of her life. The author is happily enjoying the married life with her husband of five years and their two young children. She is an avid traveler and has sought every opportunity to tour places halfway across the globe. While at home, the author makes it a full-time commitment to be a mom, but also spends a lot of her time coming up with new story material. She is often heard saying how difficult it is to balance being a wholesome house mom while writing erotic fiction on the side. While she outwardly claims her inspirations to be the likes of renowned novelists Lisa Kleypas and Anne Rice, she does admit to being a fan of the more current works such as those of the Fifty Shades of Grey author and the Twilight series. On her off times, she can also be seen reading the more wholesome works by Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.

    Chapter 1

Is everything okay? the woman who had escorted them to and from the meeting asked. Realization sunk in, and the sheikh brought Josie back up to her feet. Josie straightened her top and walked out of the lift.

Thank you, she said to the sheikh. She felt really awkward. She did not understand what had just happened in there. The sheikh did not offer a response to her gratitude. He too was feeling really awkward. He was not sure what had just happened. Why he felt like he was going to— He was not even going to think the word. In fact he was going to redirect his thoughts.

They both nodded at the woman before they left. The limo driver pulled up at the front; he got out of the car and opened the door for them. Josie made herself comfortable then looked out of the window; it wasn’t like there was ever anything for them to talk about anyway.

We have another meeting in a couple of days, the sheikh said coldly like nothing had happened. Josie turned her head to look at him.

    We? she said.

    You and I.

It's like my opinion is invalid here.

This is a great opportunity you have here. One most people would kill for, and you do not seem to appreciate it.

Josie rolled her eyes. Talking to this man was pointless. She sighed heavily. I do appreciate it, but it wouldn't hurt if you asked me, or if you spoke to me politely, she said. The sheikh stared at her blankly.

You are very impolite yourself. You need to address me in a proper manner, the sheikh said. He knew that was going to set her off. Strangely he was looking forward to it. He was still serious though. He was a sheikh and not just any sheikh but a Zahid. He had to be spoken to formally with respect and politeness.

Treat others as you want them to treat you, Josie snapped. His arrogance was getting to her. Yes, he was the sheikh, but that did not make him more special than anyone else.

That mouth of yours will get you in trouble. That luscious mouth, he thought.

    What?

You need to learn how to behave like a woman.

Great! Not only are you arrogant, you are conceited. You have no right to speak to me however you please. I have not done anything to deserve your judgment. I do not need to learn anything. If anyone needs to learn, it’s you! Josie was definitely angry now. She had been suppressing the anger, but it was now beyond her control.

And what do I need to learn? The sheikh's voice and face had not changed. He was so
