About this ebook

Josie is a disorganized, clumsy, intelligent, hardworking college intern who loves engineering. On a trip to the Middle Eastern paradise of El-Safar with several classmates and her best friend, Fiona, Josie is ready to get out in the field and out of the orientation process. And now, she’s been given a desk job that’s keeping her from the gritty work she loves.

But the man who is keeping her from her passion is also determined to impassion her in other ways—both good and bad. Sheikh Jamal, the handsome billionaire and owner of the business that Josie is interning for, may find Josie to be unkempt and shameless, but he’s inexplicably drawn to her, even giving her a personal assignment to keep her nearby.

Witness a competition of strong-willed minds as pressure builds from both sides to make Josie a suitable match for the Arabian billionaire.

Author

D.C. Chagnon

D.C. Chagnon was born in a quiet little town in Tennessee, and this was also the place where her love for the romantic and exciting was born. The author remembers days spent running on hillsides and swimming in brooks, and endless hours spent reading books that were her escape from the mundane. It was on a fateful summer day when the teenager wrote her first romantic short story as a submission for a local paper’s contest. Signed under a pseudonym, her story that told of summer and the sun, of a friendship gone beyond its limits, and heart-aching tragedy, garnered praise and the first prize for the young story-teller. She was eighteen, and on that day, she decided that she wanted to write for the rest of her life. The author is happily enjoying the married life with her husband of five years and their two young children. She is an avid traveler and has sought every opportunity to tour places halfway across the globe. While at home, the author makes it a full-time commitment to be a mom, but also spends a lot of her time coming up with new story material. She is often heard saying how difficult it is to balance being a wholesome house mom while writing erotic fiction on the side. While she outwardly claims her inspirations to be the likes of renowned novelists Lisa Kleypas and Anne Rice, she does admit to being a fan of the more current works such as those of the Fifty Shades of Grey author and the Twilight series. On her off times, she can also be seen reading the more wholesome works by Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.

Chapter 1

Josie kept running back in the house because she had forgotten something. She had packed her suitcase only the night before and packed more useless things than useful things. In the end she had actually forgotten the important things. Her mum watched her run in and out of the house from the window.

I know, mum. Don't say it, Josie said. She could tell from her facial expression that her mum was going to say I told you so. Her mum advised her to pack early and not leave things the last minute, but Josie always managed to do it all at the last minute. She hugged her mother once more then dashed out the front door.

Look after yourself, sweetheart, her mother called behind her. She was worried about her daughter being in a foreign country by herself. Josie could get hurt or something like that. Yes, she was going to have people around her, but Josie was her own hazard.

Josie ran into the airport dragging her suitcase after her. She reached the check-in desk breathless. Her peers awaited her.

I'm surprised you made it, Fiona, Josie's best friend, said. We all thought you'd miss the flight.

Me . . . too, Josie said still breathless. Man, I am unfit, she added. Josie could never run for long without running out of breath. Fiona smiled at her.

Josie and the rest of her peers checked in. She was on a trip with her university to go to one of the largest oil companies in the world. They were studying engineering and were going to study oil fields. Only the top ten best students on the course were going on this trip. Josie may have been unfit, disorganized and clumsy, but she was intelligent and hardworking.

All the excitement heightened when they got on the plane. Josie could not stop touching everything and looking out of the window. It amused her that everything looked so small. She had never been on a plane. Her family never went on vacations. Her family had to sacrifice a lot just to make sure she had gotten into one of the best universities in the country with an impeccable engineering course. Josie had always wanted to be an engineer more than anything in her life. Her friend of ten years, Fiona, had always
