THE LITTLE SINGING FROG

Once upon a time, an old farmer and his wife lived in a cottage in the countryside. They loved each other, but their lives were a bit empty.

“I wish we had a little girl to take care of!” said the farmer one day. “We would cherish and care for her, even if she was a frog!”

That day, the farmer’s wife went into the woods and prayed.

“Please send us a child - we would love her dearly, even if she was a frog!”

Though the old woman didn’t know it, a nature spirit that lived in the forest heard her prayer.

When the woman returned home, she found her husband waiting outside, holding a little bundle in his arms.

“Look what I found in our bed!”
