About this ebook

Josie’s heated relationship with handsome oil-tycoon Sheikh Jamal Zahid reaches new heights of lust and conflict as the two have finally shared their first kiss. Everything they think they feel about one another is getting put to the test now. Josie is questioning her sanity because she never goes for guys like the sheikh—conceited men who think they can tame her. The sheikh, meanwhile, is questioning his sanity because he could have any woman he wants, yet he wants her—a sarcastic, tough woman who isn’t throwing herself at his feet. As passions build, an ex-lover closes in, and Josie feels the steam of Jamal’s Arabian touch and exchanges it with her own wild tenacity. The two lovers are coming quickly to a crossroad—the end of Josie’s internship at the sheikh’s company—and they will face the biggest decision of their lives: to continue their strong-willed ways or to open their stubborn hearts for the sake of love.

Author

D.C. Chagnon

D.C. Chagnon was born in a quiet little town in Tennessee, and this was also the place where her love for the romantic and exciting was born. The author remembers days spent running on hillsides and swimming in brooks, and endless hours spent reading books that were her escape from the mundane. It was on a fateful summer day when the teenager wrote her first romantic short story as a submission for a local paper’s contest. Signed under a pseudonym, her story that told of summer and the sun, of a friendship gone beyond its limits, and heart-aching tragedy, garnered praise and the first prize for the young story-teller. She was eighteen, and on that day, she decided that she wanted to write for the rest of her life. The author is happily enjoying the married life with her husband of five years and their two young children. She is an avid traveler and has sought every opportunity to tour places halfway across the globe. While at home, the author makes it a full-time commitment to be a mom, but also spends a lot of her time coming up with new story material. She is often heard saying how difficult it is to balance being a wholesome house mom while writing erotic fiction on the side. While she outwardly claims her inspirations to be the likes of renowned novelists Lisa Kleypas and Anne Rice, she does admit to being a fan of the more current works such as those of the Fifty Shades of Grey author and the Twilight series. On her off times, she can also be seen reading the more wholesome works by Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.

    Chapter 1

Josie held onto the sheikh's arms. The amount of sensation she felt made her legs shake. She had to hold on otherwise her legs were going to give way any second. His arms felt like rocks in her hand. The sheikh cupped her bottom in his hand and lifted her a little bit, pressing her into him. Josie let out a soft moan. The sheikh wanted to rip her clothes off and just take her right there and then, but he couldn't. He broke off the kiss. For a moment they stood there looking in each other’s eyes and panting. Josie was still in his arms and standing on her toes.

Realization sunk in, and the sheikh put Josie down. He cleared his throat and backed away from her. Josie was still standing in the same spot with her eyes half closed. Her body was still paralyzed with pleasure. She still had not grasped what had just happened and why?

The car is waiting, the sheikh said and opened the door. Josie frowned; he had returned to his normal self. How could he do that so easily? Josie straightened her dress before walking out. The sheikh led her out without saying a word. When they reached the front door, he pointed out the car to her. He spun on his heel to leave.

What was that about? Josie whispered. She couldn't bring herself to ask him. She wasn't sure he knew what had happened either. Josie rubbed her bottom with her thumb. She could still feel his lips on hers. She could still taste him. She spun on her heel and headed for the car.

That night, sleep was a myth for Josie. She tried to forget it, but that was impossible. Her mind kept drifting back to when the sheikh had kissed her. She hated to admit it, but that was the best kiss she had ever had in her life. He kissed so gently and passionately. His touch made her tremble. His scent made her quiver. It was impossible that he made her feel this good. That moment she began to yearn for him. She told herself that it was just one kiss, except it wasn't. She reminded herself how much she hated him, how arrogant he was. She did not to think about someone like that, except she couldn't help it. She questioned her sanity.

The sheikh sat at his desk, and for the first in his life, he was actually distracted from his work. He had always been able to focus no matter what was happening in his life. His work was his priority. This time he found himself staring into space thinking about the one person he did not
