I'm fifteen years old, and hope to have all my books published some day. Although, I do write a lot, I'm an ordinary teen. I live on a farm with my family and do Public school online, which gives me plenty of time to think about different books to try out. I love writing and putting myself in the position of my main character. It's a way of releasing things I want to say or do, through my writing. I hope you will all stick with me through this amazing journey.

Dedicated to my parents, for never giving up on me. And my brother and sister, I know you both will always be there for me.

    Chapter 1

Michelle, just calm down, I’ll be back in a couple months. I assure her. She blew up when I told her I was going away with Aldric for a while. I didn’t tell her where I was going, or why. I just told her I needed a vacation.

What if you end up dead, like Chelsea, or Jett? She asks. Jett and Chelsea died a month ago. Skylark, our old king, killed them to get me to come to him so that he could kill me. I still blame myself for their deaths, no matter how many people tell me it isn’t my fault.

It wasn’t Aldric that killed them. How can I possibly be in danger with him?

They started dying when he showed up! Skylark never even knew your name before. Is that a coincidence? She pushes, trying to make me admit it is odd, but I know the truth.

I never told her about me having magic, or about vampires, or all the other weird things I have found out about lately. I didn’t want to bring her or anyone else into it. There is no need for anyone else to die, at least not right now. I don’t know maybe it was. But, you can’t stop me. You’re not my mother.

"I know I’m not, but your mom isn’t here to drill some sense into that thick skull of yours. You only met this guy a month ago, but now you want to take off with him into his delusional sunset? Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that’s not the way the world works. He could be a serial killer for all you know." She lectures.

Technically he is a serial killer, well maybe not a serial killer, but he has killed people before. Then again, so have I. The memory of Skylark bleeding from his eyes, mouth, ears, and nose makes me shiver, and then I sigh heavily, I’m not asking for your permission. I’m just letting you know. I leave tomorrow morning. You can come say goodbye, or you can forget about it, it’s your choice. I hang up, and immediately she calls me again. I press ignore, and start upstairs to pack. Aldric is still asleep in my bed, and to my surprise he doesn’t wake up when I walk in. I sit in the chair beside my bed where he had been sitting the night before, until I started having nightmares, after that he laid with me.

He looks so peaceful while he sleeps, almost like an angel. A while back he told me he had feelings for me, but there was a law in the vampire world that forbade him to be with a human. It was a law he made after his wife and children died, Skylark killed them also. They were humans, and Aldric thought if a human was with a vampire they were sure to end up dead, and he wouldn’t let that happen. Since, I have magic in me; I’m no longer considered a human. Therefore, the law doesn’t apply to us. We’ve been together since the day I killed Skylark. I truly needed the companionship. People were dying all around me, and because of me. He was the only thing that kept me sane, just like Jett said, He will help you make it through everything, and you will greatly need it. Jett was completely right.

I sigh heavily; causing Aldric to slowly open his eyes, and sit up, looking well rested. Morning, He yawns.

I smile, Morning, Aldric. Did you sleep okay?

Yeah, I think it was the best I’ve slept in twenty years.

That makes me think, How old are you? I ask.

He grins, "I knew that question would come up sooner or later. I’ve been a vampire for two years. In my
