Approached with the idea of the 'inner child' I balked. Certainly, a sane adult doesn't need to be talking to or listening to an "inner child". I have to admit I was listening to this audiobook with much speculation and only slight curiosity. Within moments, I could relate to the perspective of the author. I found myself nodding in agreement and saying out loud, "Exactly! That's how I feel!" I couldn't help but take notes and write down the easy to comprehend exercises.
Initially, the idea of having hope, creating safe boundaries, nurturing, and loving yourself, seemed like goals that were unreachable. After finishing this short audiobook, I find myself willing to try to work through the suggested exercises and dig a bit deeper into my story. Being aware of the way I talk to myself can change my current story and allow me to take my power back.
Thank you for writing and reading this book: Think Unbroken - 8 Steps to Healing Your Inner Child
