- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book was grit but the ending was a bit flat.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book was good, but seriously cheesy and the narrator made it hard to really get into it at times, although get accents were spot on, could listen to her in South Islander accent all day
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A good enemies to lovers romance. I loved the strong friendships, the tasty food descriptions, all the Trini culture and how many queer characters there were.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was good but not actually for me. I like each character and felt a connection with them. But, overall it just wasn’t for me.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I can't...After a sketchy chapter one, chapter 2 did it for me. While I appreciate the attempt at 'African American fiction', nothing about the narration or even some of the conversation gave me that vibe. I wanted to like it and the story seemed like it would be interesting. Representation matters!
