About this audiobook

What's life like on the tenure track?

For Assistant Professor of Sociology, Dr. Deja Evans, it sucks. Hard. Every day.

Between the class prep, the meetings, grading student work, trying to find time to complete her own research and the meetings, she didn't have a life, she had a digital calendar that decided whether she got to wallow in her feelings at 3pm or 7pm, on Thursday or maybe Sunday. And the worst meeting of them all was the two-and-a-half-hour, once a month Faculty Senate, which was drier than her dating life, duller than her skin in winter and far longer than her attention span.

The only thing that made those never-ending Faculty Senate meetings bearable was watching Dr. Alejandro Mendoza, Associate Professor of History, breathe. For years, Deja had harbored a kind of secret crush on the sexiest man on campus never thinking that he would ever feel the same, until one unexpected day, they have a steamy after hours encounter in her office and suddenly her life seems much more exciting.

That lasts about half a minute.

Over the course of a hectic academic year, Deja tries to survive her classes, help her students, prepare herself for her third-year review, and most important of all, she has to learn how to get out of her own way and just let Alejandro love her.

I never thought I'd be so interested in the lives of academics until I read this book! It's sweet and hot (!!) and lovely. Such compelling characters.

I was absolutely loving this until the male narrator started talking....his voice has no feeling whatever and just so monotoned. The female narrator is absolutely AMAZING and could have narrated the whole book, would have been perfect! I will read the book instead. DNF'ing this, sadly.

This was such a warm & cute story…I love the way Alejandro really helped Deja out of her shell and encouraged her to become more open, confident and carefree.

Loved the story and the narrators. Alejandro and Deja were on fire. The side characters were also really good and supportive. I truly enjoyed this little story. Give it a try if you need a light and cute story.

I loved this book. I really hope that Katrina Jackson has one for her friends Maria and Toni as well. I love Toni string independence and love for helping women of color succeed and Maria quiet shyness. Overall, great book ❤️

Honestly, I cannot get past the male voice narrating in this book. It sounds like the voice that announces the emergency broadcast system … Look Wesleigh Siobhan can carry a whole narration by herself. Her male voice is top-tier. So if she’s not narrating with Jakobi Demi or Emannuel Ingram. Pay that women that money to read the book by herself, this was just awful.

Crying Screaming Throwing up was made just for this book!! What a wonderful, mature and sexy romance. Damn! And Alejandro can roll me like a croissant any day of the week. This man raised my standards to the roof I swear lol.

This is very low conflict, low stakes, minimal character/plot development erotica. If you want to read 17 sex scenes between two people who are already obsessed with each other before the book starts, this is the book for you.
