About this audiobook

“This feel-good, uplifting read is filled with positive messages about self-care and self-love. It is sure to please foodies, home-makeover buffs, and anyone looking for a light-hearted romantic read.” –USA Today

A sexy romance about a plus-size sweetheart who gets a full-life makeover after a brutal breakup and falls for the incredibly hot contractor renovating her home.

Savvy Sheldon spends a lot of time tiptoeing around the cracks in her life: her high-stress and low-thanks job, her clueless boyfriend and the falling-apart kitchen she inherited from her beloved grandma—who taught her how to cook and how to love people by feeding them. But when Savvy’s world starts to crash down around her, she knows it’s time for some renovations.

Starting from the outside in, Savvy tackles her crumbling kitchen, her relationship with her body, her work–life balance (or lack thereof) and, last but not least, her love life. The only thing that doesn’t seem to require effort is her ride-or-die squad of friends. But as any home-reno-show junkie can tell you, something always falls apart during renovations. First, Savvy passes out during hot yoga. Then it turns out that the contractor she hires is the same sexy stranger she unintentionally offended by judging based on appearances. Worst of all, Savvy can’t seem to go anywhere without tripping over her ex and his latest "upgrade." Savvy begins to realize that maybe she should’ve started her renovations the other way around: beginning with how she sees herself before building a love that lasts.

"A heartfelt, hopeful, and humorous exploration of the importance of learning to love yourself...a joy to read.” –Booklist, STARRED review

An okay book but definitely a one timer. I felt there was a good bit of emphasis on Savy not accepting her body despite her achievements. It took way too long for the revenge plan to be forgotten IMHO.

Don't read this book if you are struggling with self acceptance as a big girl. It reads like a diet how to book and even if there's a moment at the end of self acceptance the damage is done.

This book was good, when I come to work I would listen via audiobook. I’m not a fan of the person reading this book though.

Excellent I love how she found herself first and learne her power. This book was beautifully written and had me laughing outloud. I'm excited to read more from this author. The book spoke to me and things I've experienced especially after a break up trying to get that revenge back. I felt seen.

Hmmm…not too sure about this one. I don’t usually read romances so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Miss Savvy and this FOOD..LAWD do not read this when you’re hungry.

Her ex boyfriend was CORNY and idk why his peanut head kept showing up throughout the story. He wanted to break up so why was he relevant to our story ?

I loved Savvy’s friend group! They def had her back through it all!

The romance..uhhh it was okay..i guess lol.

I was glad Savvy was getting her groove back and working on herself but the amount of times we talked about tennis got repetitive and annoying ?

Overall this was just ok. It started off great and then I lost interest at some point and was ready for it to end.

Great book, I loved her best friends and the support they provided through a rough time in her life. Honestly I would have given this a 5/5 if I could get over the self hate. I know that is real to many people, but when I read or listen to a book I don’t want to hear about self hate. However, the author is authentic in that aspect, because after a break up we all feel worthless in some way or another, wonder what we could have done differently. Regardless, give this book a chance; I’m sure glad I did.

It was ok. The tennis was overkill and I found myself skipping huge portions.

I absolutely hate when the MC is a big girl, and her weight is made to be the problem. Why can’t she just love herself without changing? I get wanting to have a transformation of some sort, but why couldn’t that transformation happen through her job and love life? This was super disappointing.
