“Jamie Wesley mixes up a perfect romantic treat. You’ll fall hard for the men of Sugar Blitz and the sweet charm of FAKE IT TILL YOU BAKE IT.” ― Kwana Jackson USA Today Bestselling Author

Jada Townsend-Matthews is the most reviled woman in America after turning down a proposal on a reality dating show. When she comes home to lick her wounds, Jada finds herself working at San Diego's newest cupcake bakery, Sugar Blitz, alongside the uptight owner and professional football player Donovan Dell.

When a reporter mistakenly believes Jada and Donovan are an item, they realize they can use the misunderstanding to their advantage to help the struggling bakery and rehabilitate Jada's image. Faking a relationship should be simple, but sometimes love is the most unexpected ingredient.

Audio skips portions of the book throughout. Don’t waste your time.

I feel like I would have enjoyed this book with out all the playback issues. It’s not the books fault but made it harder to follow the story.

The narrator was very stilted and made me dislike the book even more. There was way too much discussing of feelings rather than showing. I didn’t feel invested in either character. Also, if you’re going to have a football hero in the book, talk about his training and playing.

Tried. Really did, but cannot deal with the narration. I tuned out so frequently that I can't even tell you what the storyline is.

Why did you choose this narrator? Her voice is why I gave it one star

This book has serious playback issues. I liked the story until it kept skipping huge chunks of the storyline. For instance in chapter 17, the narration went from chapter 17 to chapter 25 from one half sentence to the next. Please fix this. I missed half the book!

A wonderful, quick and funny romance about a rich girl who needs to find herself and the love interest who would do anything for her! The couple had undeniable and immediate chemistry, the drama was entertaining and the fake dating trope was carried out perfectly! Bonus points because this was a Black romance and had great sexual tension. Definitely recommend!! (And great narration too!)

This was a fun and enjoyable read! It kept me hooked and I finished in 24 hours! I loved the idea of football players owning a cupcake shop and found myself craving a cupcake the whole time reading. Jada and Donovan's banter was amazing and you can never go wrong with fake dating. I was hoping there would be more football, but it makes sense that the focus would be on the cupcake shop. My only complaint was the third act break up. I'm not opposed to a third act break up if it makes sense, but this was a little out of the blue for me. Otherwise, I still enjoyed it and would recommend it! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Fabulous read! I totally love that she incorporated a person with dyslexia and the struggles that can come along with it into the characters' life because I relate and deal with same struggles. The characters felt like they were some my best friends by the end of the book. I loved watching Jada grow into the wonderful woman she already was. This was my first time reading the authors book, but it will not be my last! I don't write reviews often, but this time, I felt I had to. Please make all of your books with audio versions.
