Description

Happy Satiated Saturday! The field of somatics has revolutionized trauma healing by bringing a greater understanding of the mind-body connection and the role of the body in trauma recovery. Traditionally, trauma healing focused primarily on addressing the psychological and cognitive aspects of trauma, often neglecting the physiological and somatic manifestations of trauma in the body. Somatics, on the other hand, recognizes the inseparable link between the mind and body and the significant impact trauma can have on the nervous system and physical well-being. Trauma can be stored in implicit memory, making it challenging to access and process through traditional talk therapy alone. Somatic approaches incorporate body-centered techniques that help access and work with the unconscious aspects of trauma, leading to more profound and lasting healing. In this week’s episode, we're going to explore some of the somatic approaches that have made a profound shift in how we approach trauma, including the somatic trauma healing modality that inspired me to create this history of somatics series, and my addition of Somatic Eating® and what it is.You can also read the transcript to this week’s episode here: https://www.stephaniemara.com/blog/the-history-of-somatics-revolutionizing-trauma-healingAt the end of this episode, I offer a special discount on my Intro to Somatic Eating® mini course so be sure to stay tuned until the end! With Compassion and Empathy, Stephanie Mara FoxResources from this episode: My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa MenakemThe Quaking of America by Resmaa MenakemWaking the Tiger by Peter LevineIn An Unspoken Voice by Peter LevineIntro to Somatic Eating® mini course 50% off: https://satiated.mykajabi.com/offers/L2B45adzSupport the showKeep in touch with Stephanie Mara here:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/https://www.somaticeating.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: support@stephaniemara.comSupport the show:Become a supporter of the show here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/809987/supportCheck out my favorite water filter: https://www.pureeffectfilters.com/#a_aid=somaticeatingCheck out my favorite protein powder and receive 15% off when you use the code STEPHANIEMARA at checkout here: https://www.equipfoods.com/discount/STEPHANIEMARA?rfsn=7433250.c99684Use my Amazon Affiliate link when shopping on Amazon: https://amzn.to/448IyPl Special thanks to Bendsoun...
