Description

What you do after assessments matters. You’ve selected the right assessment, offered it to your leaders, and received their results. The three things that should happen next are the secret to making leadership assessments work. Tune in to Learning For Good —  The Secret to Making Leadership Assessments Work. What You Will Discover:  ✔️ Coaching. Have a coach who can debrief results with your leaders and support them over a period of time. This step is important because it will be harder for leaders to ignore results. Coaches can help set the right goals, execute accountability, and help leaders identify and overcome barriers to change. ✔️ Tailored development. Once leaders understand their results, it’s time to take action. Give them opportunities to create goals and engage in professional development to help them achieve those goals. Dedicate time and resources for leadership training or a stretch task or assignment. ✔️ Follow-up. This is where you’ll find out if the assessments made a difference. This can look like a conversation, report, survey, or a second assessment process, and can happen with a coach, supervisor, or HR team member. You must know what the leader has accomplished and what they still need to be successful. We want to create meaningful learning solutions that fit in the flow of work and yield real results for the organization. That's why in this podcast, we will not only explore instructional design and leadership development best practices, but we will also explore change management, belonging, and influence - helping you build the case for the solutions your organization needs so you can show up confidently in conversations with other senior leaders, subject matter experts, and partners. If we haven't met yet, I'm Heather, and I’ve been in your shoes. I'm a learning and development consultant and the founder and principal consultant at Skill Masters Market. Before starting Skill Masters Market, I worked for a large national nonprofit where I led learning and leadership development initiatives. I know what it’s like to need to develop your staff quickly and effectively and to build the relationships and cut through the organizational layers to be successful. With an eye for both the larger strategy and the creative design process, I've created hundreds of learning experiences - in-person, self-paced, and virtual classroom - and have worked with dozens of leaders to help them achieve their organization’s professional development goals. So if you're ready to bust through the barriers and start creating behavior change in your nonprofit, this podcast is for you. Let's dive in. It's Learning for Good.
