Description
If you've ever wondered if your gut and your brain are related, you're in good company.
My guest today, Evan Transue, is going to connect the dots for us by sharing his own mental and physical health story.
Evan walks us through his childhood experience to highlight areas of opportunity where things could have been done differently for better outcomes. I think this method of teaching is brilliant, because it's highly relatable (there will be moments where you might think to yourself- of yeah I've been there) and it helps us to pinpoint the kinds of moments we have control over so we don't make the same mistakes for our future generations.
You'll walk away from this episode with a better understanding of
Underlying stressors that contribute to mental health problems in kids.
How to recognize the signs- Evan was able to "fake it" and fool everyone around him into thinking he was OK, but if those around him knew what to look for, I don't think it would have been difficult to see that he wasn't.
The connection between physical and mental health.
Strategies for addressing the root cause of these issues
How to empower both yourself and future generations.
